A circle that starts and finishes at the farm in Kresgeville, where our vineyard is now located. The property had always been a Camelot during the summer. a spot of breathtaking natural wonder and beauty where a child from Brooklyn might explore to his heart's content. It was the home I'd always desired, bought by my great-uncle Dominic and grandfather Sam three quarters of a century ago.
The farm was only a short distance from Maryland. Weekends were the best. As I grew more accustomed to drinking wine, I started creating my own using grapes that traveled from California via Brooklyn. My mother's closest friend, Mary's father, Mr. D, recommended that I try growing grapes rather than purchasing them one disastrous weekend at the farm. Thus, I did.
We began with some Concord, followed by several European varietals used to produce the wines we like drinking, and then some hybrid vines. At this point, we were mostly producing extremely palatable wines and had close to 5 acres of grapes. From there, we made the decision to turn it into a family company and dove right in.
At the bar, tastings are conducted under our staff's supervision. If you require a seat for your sampling, just let us know; we would be pleased to do so.
We don't refrigerate our tasting samples since doing so might dilute the wine's true taste.
On request, we do provide cold wine by the glass.
Please call ahead to let us know you'll be coming if you're coming in a group of 8 or more.
